AA Browser for Android 14
Welcome to the compatibility and installation guide for AA Browser on Android 14. Android 14 is one of the most stable and popular operating systems for Android Auto, but it enforces background execution and battery-saving rules that can close the browser service.
Android 14 Setup & Settings
1. Unknown Sources Whitelisting
To display the browser inside your car launcher:
- Open Android Auto settings on your Android 14 device.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap 'Version' 10 times to unlock developer configurations.
- Click the menu on the upper-right corner and choose 'Developer settings'.
- Check Unknown sources.
2. Battery Optimization & Background Execution
Android 14 aggressively suspends background web rendering services to preserve battery life. If your AA Browser screen goes black or freezes when you plug in the device:
- Go to Phone Settings → Apps → AA Browser.
- Select 'Battery' or 'App battery usage' and set it to Unrestricted.
- Ensure background data usage is allowed.
3. Display Scaling & Screen Configuration
On Android 14, standard high-definition car screens may render web content too small or too large. Launch AA Browser on your car console, open its settings panel via the bottom drawer, and adjust the Display Scaling multiplier (100% to 150%) to suit your vehicle screen size.
